SAR 1.6 billion investment to develop Jeddah Islamic Port’s fourth container terminal, adding 2.6 million TEUs of annual capacity.
Saudi Arabia is strengthening its position as a global logistics hub with a major new investment at Jeddah Islamic Port. Mawani has announced an agreement between Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) and global shipping group CMA CGM to develop and operate the port’s fourth container terminal, with an investment of approximately SAR 1.6 billion. The project will add around 2.6 million TEUs of annual handling capacity, supporting the Kingdom’s growing trade and maritime activity.
The development will include deep-water berths capable of handling ultra-large container vessels, advanced operational technologies and 10 new ship-to-shore cranes. Strategically located on the Red Sea between Asia, Europe and Africa, Jeddah Islamic Port will gain greater capacity, efficiency and connectivity, further strengthening its role as a major gateway for international trade and global supply chains.
This investment reflects the continued transformation of Saudi Arabia’s logistics and infrastructure landscape under Vision 2030. As the Kingdom expands its ports, transport networks and international partnerships, it is creating stronger opportunities for businesses seeking to establish, expand and connect with global markets. Saudi Arabia is building the infrastructure to become a leading gateway for global trade.
